This is an activity our
Presidency did to introduce the theme, this year.... But, could be
used for an activity threw out the year....
I gave a mini talk on Standing
Steadfast & immovable, always abounding in good works.... My talk
went hand in hand with my activity.... I took small dolls
from the dollar store (that the arm could bend, about 4 in. tall)
and set them in a small cup of plaster Paris...
- The dolls represented each
YW
- The plaster paris
represented Standing Steadfast and immovable on a sure
foundation
Abounding in Good Work- I
took Young Women standards and made fun (MINI) word strips using
the Young Women Values....... (example: Modest, Tithing,
Integrity, Kindness, Knowledge, Service) and the girls glued the
words strips onto there foundation
- representing, that it is
through your Good Work that your foundations is built
I raised the arms (bendy) over
the head of the dolls and created a mini sign (card stock) for the
dolls to hold Saying:
Standing
Steadfast and Immovable
Always Abounding,
In Good Works
This represented the Young
Women's pride in what she believed in... Wanting to shout it to
the world...
My Young Women really enjoyed
this activity and my daughters still display there YW in there
rooms... And will be a cute object to display at our Young Women's
in Excellence....
