We did "Anchor
Of Hope" last year 2003. The stake were the admirals, the ward camp
directors were the captains, ycls were skippers etc. Our scripture was
Ether 12:4. Each ward chose a country were their ship would come
in--port-of-call. Our ward chose Jamaica. My ward logo was "We Jamaica
difference" and our ward flag the girls made an island and a palm tree
in the middle and made starfish and put their names on it. As a craft I
got wooden picture frames and got some plaster of paris and put it in
frame and sprinkled sand. Let it dry then have them arrange real shells
and I gave them each 2 real (small) starfish and hot glue to the frame.
The girls loved it. I had the poem about the boy who was on the beach
and there were thousands of starfish and he was throwing them in the
ocean. An old man came and said that there were to many starfish to save
that he really wasn't going to make a difference and the boy replied
after throwing one of the starfish in the water "I made a difference for
that one. " It was the best camp year ever
