Tribes of Truth - Book of Mormon
Each group was a Lamanite group - The first day we took eight foot length telephone poles
and men with chain saws, etc. and they helped each group make a totem pole that we put in
the lodge for the week. They represented a "totem" which is an animal. The
animal represents certain attributes that the group wants to emulate that week. (The totem
poles are at my house now, decorating my yard)
We had a Rite of Passage evening, where we had each girl contemplate goals she wanted to
achieve and to write it down and then through a pinecone in the fire to represented
something they would give up or get rid of in order to obtain her goal.
We had a potlatch which is a dinner that the guests bring a gift to. The girls brought a
secret sister gift to give.
White T-shirt with a small pocket graphic saying Tribes of Truth
We gave out beads that week for accomplishing different things and that was the emphasis
at the ropes course.
Spiritual message was centered around the Book of Mormon stories and doctrine found in the
Book of Mormon.
