The Weakest Link skit that I
mentioned in an earlier post is included below (I have received permission from the author
to post it) This skit was performed at our stake camp this past summer. Our ward will be
performing it at our YWIE in November. Perhaps it could also be used for a YW Joint
Activity on the value Individual Worth, or Integrity.

Girls Camp 2001
Host: Welcome to our special celebrity edition of the WEAKest Link! [Extreme emphasis
every time saying "WEAKest Link"]
Joining us tonight are 8 women from the scriptures. Any of these 8 women in the studio
here tonight could win up to 1 million dollars. The rest will leave with nothing. If they
want the money, they'll have to work as a team, however, 7 of them will leave with nothing
as round by round, we eliminate the player voted the WEAKest Link!
Let's meet the team.
Esther: Hi, I'm Esther. I'm from Persia. Occupation: Queen.
Eve: I'm Eve. From the Garden of Eden. Occupation: Help meet to Adam and Mother of all
living.
Sariah: I'm Sariah. From Jerusalem but now reside in The Promised Land. I'm a wilderness
and camping buff.
Ruth: My name is Ruth. I'm originally from Moab. Occupation: Wheat Gleaner.
Mary: Hi, I'm Mary. I'm from Nazareth. I'm the wife of Joseph and mother to Jesus.
Abish: My name is Abish. I'm from the land of Nephi. Occupation: Servant to King
Lamoni.[pronounced A'bish]
Emma: I'm Emma. I'm from back East. I love Relief Society and collecting hymns.
Elisabeth: Hi. I'm Elisabeth. I'm from Juda. I'm the mother of John the Baptist.
Host: Now, in each round, the idea is to answer enough questions correctly to reach your
$125,000 mark within the time limit. The fastest way to reach that target is to create a
chain of 8 correct answers. Get your question wrong and you break the chain and lose all
the money in the chain. But if you say the word "BANK" before your question is
asked, the money is safe, however, you'll start a brand new chain. Only money that has
been banked can be carried over to the next round. The order you're playing in was
randomly selected before the show. We'll start with the player in the first position.
That's you, Esther.

Host: CorRECT! Eve, name the 2 reasons we came to earth. [Again, extreme emphasis saying
"CorRECT" with a brief pause afterward before going on to next contestant.]
Eve: To get a body and to be tested.
Host: CorRECT! Sariah, "Long ago their fathers came from far across the sea" are
words from what song?
Sariah: I don't know! "Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam"?
Host: Book of Mormon Stories! Ruth, what prophet parted the Red Sea?
Ruth: Moses.
Host: CorRECT! Mary, according to the scriptures, who will be resurrected?
Mary: Everyone.
Host: CorRECT! Abish, what is the 1st commandment of the 10 Commandments?
Abish: Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Host: CorRECT!
Emma: BANK. [Said quickly before Host starts question.]
Host: Emma, "His eyes were as a flame of fire, his voice was as the sound of the
rushing great waters." Whom was Joseph Smith describing?
Emma: Jesus Christ.
Host: CorRECT! Elisabeth, how long did Jesus pray before he chose his 12 apostles?
Elisabeth: All night.
Host: CorRECT! Esther, what did Moses have to remove before he could stand by the burning
bush?
Esther: His shoes.
Host: CorRECT! Eve, what heavenly kingdom is spoken of as being like the sun?
Eve: The Celestial Kingdom.

Host: CorRECT! Sariah, instead of just being hearers of the word, we should also be what?
Sariah: Believers?
Host: Doers of the word! Ruth, what sign did God give Noah to show that he promised never
to flood the earth again?
Ruth: A rainbow.
Host: CorRECT! Mary, what does the water in the sacrament represent?
Mary: The blood of Christ.
Host: CorRECT!
Abish: BANK. [Again, said quickly before Host starts question.]
Host: Abish, in what scripture does Moroni exhort us to pray about the truthfulness of the
Book of Mormon?
Abish: Moroni 4:10?
Host: Moroni 10:4â?¦ Emma, what did the soldier put in Christ's side while he was on the
cross?
Emma: A sword?
Host: A spear! Elisabeth, what was the first recorded miracle that Jesus performed?
Elisabeth: He changed water to wine.
Host: CorRECT! Esther, what does Proverbs say turns away wrath?
Esther: A soft answer.
Host: CorRECT! Eve, what did Jesus say we should let "shine before men"?
Eve: Our smiles?
Host: Our Light! Sariah, what phrase comes after "Our Father which art in
heaven" in the Lord's prayer?
Sariah: "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done." [Buzzer or bell could be rung here
for time.]
Host: No. I'm sorry, it's "Hallowed be thy name." And we are out of time.
Well, team, out of a possible $125,000 that first round, you banked a miserable, pathetic
$7500. That money will go to the next round, but one of
you, very deservedly will not.
Who built their house upon a rock and who built their house upon the sand? One of you is
about to leave with nothing. It's time to vote off the
WEAKest Link! [Pause for voting.]
[Commercial may be inserted here if there are extra girls. You could use one of the LDS
Homefront commercials. Then Host will say, "We will tally the votes after we return
from a word from our sponsor."]
Host: With the voting over, it's time to reveal who you think is the WEAKest Link!â?¦
Esther?
Esther: Well, I think everyone here is great and I don't really care about the money, so I
just voted for me. [flipping over card with her name on it.]
Eve: Hey, I was thinking the same thing and I voted for me too! [flipping over card with
her name.]
Sariah: No way, same here! [flipping over card with her name.]
Ruth: Yeah, I guess I didn't realize when we signed on for this that we'd have to get rid
of each other. [flipping over card with her name.]
Mary: Wow. I voted for me too. [flipping over card with her name.]
Abish: Yeah, I don't mind leaving. [flipping over card with her name.]
Emma: I just came tonight so I could meet all of you amazing women. I'll step out, I
don't care. [flipping over card with her name.]
Elisabeth: Yeah, I feel the same way. [flipping over card with her name.]
Host: [Pausing, confused with how to handle this new development! Interesting, very
interesting. We've never before had a player vote herself off, nor have we had an all way
tie in our first round. [Sneering somewhat disgustedly! I think your sappy
corny selflessness is foolish but my opinion does not matter here, votes do. Very well,
the rules state that the strongest link in the round, which in this case is Esther, casts
the deciding vote. Who's it going to be, Esther?
Esther: No, I refuse to say. I don't want any of us to leave.
Mary: Yeah, all of us are important to the team.
The rest of the 8: [Speak out and/or nod in agreement.]
Host: [Getting a little frazzled] But Sariah missed the most questions - vote HER off. Cut
HER loose.
All 8 Women: No, we're not going to. We don't want to. Why? That's not nice. We don't like
that. What about a second chance? Haven't you heard of repentance? Etc.
Host: [Starting to freak out here] What are you doing?! That's not how the game is played!
Those aren't the rules! You vote then I get to say, "You ARE the weakest
link. Good bye."
YOU! [pointing to Sariah] You leave now!
[Host goes to pull Sariah off the stage, but all 8 link arms and stand firm.]
[Screaming and tugging on different women to get one to leave] You're ruining everything!
Who's going to get the money!
Mary: Money's not important!
Elisabeth: We don't care about money!
Emma: THAT doesn't matter. People matter!
Ruth: Returning to our Father is what matters and we all need each other to succeed!
The rest of the 8: [Speak and/or nod in agreement.]
Esther: That's right! We need all of us, even YOU! We need YOU too!
All 8 Women: [Speak and/or nod in agreement.]
Host: [Host stops in astonishment and says meekly] Me? You want me? Really? Nobody's ever
wanted me before.
[All 8 nod, smile, and reach out to Host.] All 8 Women & Host: Group hug! [All
hug a good long time - but not too long.]
Eve: Come on, let get out of here!
[Group starts to head offstage still linked together or hugging shoulders.]
Elisabeth: Hey, let's go work on our Personal Progress!
Group: Yeah! Cool! Great! Etc.
Abish: Who wants refreshments?
Sariah: Allright! Punch and cookies!
Group: Okay! Yeah! Woo-hoo! Etc.
Host: I love you guys!
[Then Host breaks from the group, runs back and says to the audience]
NO more weak links! Good-bye! [and runs to catch up with the group.]
