Here
is the recipe for value mix. This is a candy type mix that I use for lots of things.
It is a nice little "throw in" treat for lots of things. By the recipe it may
sound a little weird, but it really is good.
You will need:
I box of caramel or butter toffee popcorn (Wal-Mart brand is good)
(also can use home made caramel popcorn) The popcorn must be coated however and not just
plain popcorn.
3 squares of white chocolate (the kind you dip pretzels in)
1 square of milk chocolate (these have to have a good wax content to harden back up)
1 cup pretzels
1 cup mini marshmallows
1/2 cup value colored candy
Melt the white chocolate in a large bowl in the microwave for 2 minutes.
pour in the
popcorn, pretzels and marshmallows and stir until coated.
Pour onto a cookie sheet. Sprinkle the candy over the mix quickly so that it can stick to
the chocolate before it completely cools. Melt the milk chocolate or dark chocolate the
same way and drizzle it with a fork over the mix. Let cool, break a part a little ( leave
some big pieces too) and put in a cellophane or plastic bag.
You could use colored marshmallows or make it with no candy at all. I have made it with
crushed candy cane, red hots, toffee chips, dried cranberries etc. (not all in the same
batch) Warning: Can be addictive. We enclose this with the packages when we send music to
the stores. We
call it our "edible packing material." I don't know if they order for the music
or the treat. (Smile)
