We have a recipe for Wassail that we really like.
It was given to us by a lady serving on a Legislative committee with my husband. She had
put some (dry) in a cute little jar with a poem which I will put at the end. I usually
triple it and put it in my punch bowl...with oranges and lemons floating in it. It doesn't
last long enough to get cold! Sunbeam in Idaho
WASSAIL
1 1/3 c. sugar
1 c. instant lemonade powder (like Country Time) without sugar
( or 3 pkgs Kool-Aid lemonade)
3 cups Tang or any similar orange flavored drink
2 t. cinnamon
2 t. cloves
Simmer with about 2 quarts water
(to taste) and serve. (Heat 2 tsp. in 1 c.
water for individual servings)
TAG:
Webster tells us the literal
meaning of WASSAIL is "be thou well, an ancient expression of good wishes on a
festive occasion, especially when drinking to health."
