Standing in Holy Places

In the aftermath of random acts of terror and violence and
in view of our renewed patriotism, we've thought about making our theme based on Being
involved in Random Acts Of Kindness (RAOK) and putting forth the idea that we are God's
army and His means of performing good works. We'll carry through a red, white, and
blue theme. We thought about putting each YW's name in a jar and drawing one out each week
and having that YW share in opening exercises what RAOK she performed that week. These
RAOK will be a good first step toward missionary work and experiences.

In our stake we first decided what our goals were. Then we
got input from the young women. Finally (after much discussion, prayer, and a visit to the
temple) we picked a theme ... "Eternity Matters Today." The acronym is EMT, and
we've already got lots of ideas using EMT's. The insignia on an EMT uniform is called the
"star of life" and has six points to it. We are focusing on six areas we feel
fit into our goals (like strengthen home and family, stand tall, choose the right.)

"Strengthen Home and Family".
It is the line that they are adding to the YW theme.

If anyone is still looking for theme ideas, here's another
one. We had our stake leadership meeting last night, and this is what our stake YW
presidency presented for us to use next year. They have decided that our stake focus will
be on missionary work. The theme they chose is "How Great Shall Be Your Joy". To
go along with it they had come up with these areas of focus:
Be Aware
Ask In Prayer
Truly Care
Wisely Prepare
Dare To Share
Any of those by itself would be a great theme too!
